Mindful of the needs of so many other children in poor India, Chiks identified two struggling Homes that deserved its assistance – as funding would allow.

These are The Little Flower Mercy Home, established in the central Kerala hills, where destitute adults and homeless children are being cared for, and The Carmel Matha Santhi Bhavan, in the northern hills, where rescued street children are being rehabilitated.

If the young people are today enjoying education and care, for the older ones vocational training is providing independence skills.

Chiks has played a key part in providing outstanding accommodation and other facilities – and opportunities for the 140 or so children and teenagers supported at the Homes.   Thanks to many individuals and organisations - including Lions and Rotary clubs, Inner Wheel and Arcaid- we’ve been able to provide beds and vehicles to buildings and farm land.

Key Chiks’ target for both Homes:  seeking to meet all of their daily living costs.
